The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) is a consortium of equipment manufacturers, food industries, research institutes as well as public health authorities and was founded in 1989 with the aim to promote hygiene during the processing and packing of food products.

The institute of Life Science created the EHEDG section Switzerland in 2009.

Les activités de cette société indépendante sont concentrées sur le traitement de problèmes pratiques rencontrés dans le domaine de l’hygiène alimentaire. Elles contribuent ainsi à la protection et à l’amélioration de la santé publique. La SSHDA constitue un centre d’échanges de connaissances, elle offre une information spécialisée et propose un programme de formation continue à ses membres, tout comme au public.
